So is the WinCustomize website tied into all the other Stardock forums? I.E. I make a post here and it appears on all the others? I believe it is as I was told that not too long ago.
Honestly, the problem lies in all these sites being tied together...
Some-where along the lines is a "weak link" in the chain, I.E. a site with a bad or spotty connection. Not necessarily a Stardock server, but something connected to one of their ISP's along the "chain", some hardware another company own, something. It f'ks up...all the rest f'k up.
Almost a good idea....terrible execution. Sorry guys. Question is, why do it? I understand the "community" feeling. I also understand how handy it "could be" to make a post on one site and have it seen on a bunch of others too. That part is a good idea, but...lets examine another angle.
There's another post floating around where the poster asks "What is Karma for?". The short answer is this:
If someone has a lot of "Karma" it shows that people have liked them or their ideas enough to give them Karma. That or the people have been helpful or given helpful replies. In a sense, the higher your Karma the more generally trusted your answers are. Is this "cool" and "handy"? Sure. Is it worth the hassle of "Forums Go Boom" because something along the chain f'ks up? ....um....No. That's just my opinion though. I'd rather have fully working sites with no network errors making me lose my posts that I forgot to "copy" before I hit post. Sometimes when you hit "Visit The Past" what you typed is gone!!! So I beg the question....what's the point? Better to get rid of what-ever system is causing the screw-ups then it is to have sites messing up all the time.
